First Details of Songs of the Past — A New Expansion for The Witcher 3 Remastered on Switch 2

CD Projekt Red has revealed details of the new story expansion Songs of the Past for The Witcher 3 Remastered on Switch 2.

Following the official announcement of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Remastered for the next-generation Switch 2 console, CD Projekt Red has shared fresh details about the massive upcoming expansion Songs of the Past, scheduled for release in 2027.

Geralt's Return and a New Location

The expansion is being developed in close collaboration with Fool’s Theory studio, which includes veterans of the original third Witcher game's development. The new adventure will serve as the final chord in the White Wolf's story before players set out on the Path as Ciri in The Witcher 4.

The events of Songs of the Past will take place immediately after the conclusion of the Blood and Wine expansion's story. Players will visit a brand-new region — the picturesque settlement of Letten, the homeland of the bard Dandelion. Despite the pastoral atmosphere of the Polish countryside, this land conceals dark and dangerous secrets.

Key Details About Songs of the Past:

  • The idea for this expansion originated among CD Projekt Red developers many years ago.
  • The events take place entirely in Dandelion's homeland — in picturesque and tranquil Letten.
  • Behind the region's idyllic facade lies a gloomy underworld with new dangers.
  • Geralt will likely receive a new romantic storyline.

As a reminder, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Remastered will be released on Switch 2 on September 29, 2026, and will include updated graphics, gameplay improvements, and the previous expansions Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.
