Call of Duty Returns to Nintendo
The last time a Call of Duty game was released on a Nintendo platform was back in 2013 — it was Call of Duty: Ghosts for Wii U. Now, after more than 13 years of waiting, the series is returning: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23, 2026.
The Switch 2 version will have full feature parity with other platforms — players will be able to play online alongside PlayStation, Xbox, and PC owners. Naturally, the graphics on Switch 2 won't fully match the other versions, so a video comparing the graphics and frame rate of the Switch 2 and PS5 versions has appeared online.
Story and Multiplayer
Modern Warfare 4 is set against the backdrop of a rapidly escalating conflict on the Korean Peninsula. Players will control Private Park, a young South Korean soldier caught in the vortex of a full-scale North Korean invasion, while Captain Price, who has long been operating off the grid, searches for a weapon capable of plunging the world into catastrophe. The campaign will take players from New York to Paris and Mumbai, as well as into the trenches of Korea.
Multiplayer offers a dynamic and precise combat experience featuring cross-play, cross-progression, and mouse control support via Joy-Con 2. The new Ballistic Authority system promises the most authentic gunplay mechanics in the franchise's history. At launch, the game will offer 12 core maps, as well as the Kill Block mode that dynamically alters the arena configuration — with over 500 layout variations available.
