The dystopian yuri visual novel Black Lily’s Tale has been released on Nintendo Switch. The game is created based on the original concept and illustrations by the renowned artist Fukahire, offering an unusual approach to the classic genre of text adventure games.
Gameplay Features and Plot
There are no forced choices in the traditional sense in the game's world—instead, it uses a unique mechanic where the player can "interrupt" dialogues with their own actions and type in text to break the tragic time loop.
The events unfold 18 years after overcoming the dangerous CLII virus, which wiped out a significant portion of the youth. The protagonist, Hana Sasamori, a high school senior in Sapporo, finds herself trapped in the very same day. Trying to sort out her feelings for her friend Itsuki, she confronts the mystical curse of the black lily.
What is included in the Nintendo Switch version:
- A new epilogue (After Story) titled "The Day We First Crossed the Boundary," which covers events following the conclusion of the main storyline;
- All additional DLC scenarios previously released for the Steam version;
- Improved and reworked game balance.
Black Lily’s Tale is already available for purchase in the digital Nintendo eShop.
