A claymation adventure is heading to the new Nintendo console
During the IGN FanFest event, studio Slow Bros announced that their unusual and warmly received adventure game Harold Halibut will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 12, 2026.
The project was in development for over ten years—work began back in 2013. A distinctive feature of the game is that all sets, objects, and characters were handcrafted in the real world and then digitized using 3D scanning. The game was previously released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, and will now make its way to Nintendo's next-generation handheld platform.
What is Harold Halibut about?
Harold Halibut is a narrative adventure about friendship and life inside a city-sized spaceship submerged in an alien ocean. The protagonist, Harold, helps maintain the ship's systems and tries to understand what the concept of "home" truly means to him.
Key game features:
- A unique visual style in the vein of stop-motion animation powered by 3D scanning of real physical models.
- Over 40 distinctive characters.
- A cinematic storyline with full professional voice acting and motion capture.
