Technical Overview of the New Tactical RPG from Intelligent Systems
Last week, the turn-based tactical role-playing game Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave from developer Intelligent Systems was released on the Nintendo Switch 2 console. The Digital Foundry team has already thoroughly tested the title on Nintendo's new hybrid system and published their performance analysis.
Stability Above All
According to the experts' findings, the new entry in the series runs at a "locked" 30 frames per second. While some other flagship Switch 2 titles support 60 frames per second (such as Mario Kart World), the developers of Fortune's Weave prioritized stability and graphical quality.
- The frame rate stays locked at 30 fps without any drops during combat and location exploration;
- The game demonstrates a noticeable improvement in stability compared to Fire Emblem Engage for the original Nintendo Switch;
- The visual style and character model detail have become significantly more expressive thanks to the hardware capabilities of Switch 2.
