Hamster continues to delight fans of retro classics with another addition to the Arcade Archives lineup. This week, players will get the chance to experience the arcade shooter Balloon Bomber, which releases on October 1, 2026, on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
Return of the Arcade Classic from TAITO
The original game Balloon Bomber was released by TAITO back in 1980. It is a dynamic fixed shooter in which players control an anti-aircraft gun and shoot down bombs attached to balloons as they slowly descend from the sky.
- Authentic gameplay: an accurate recreation of the classic 1980 arcade cabinet.
- Modern features: support for difficulty settings, progress saving, and leaderboards.
- Two-generation availability: the game is optimized to run on both the original Nintendo Switch and the new Switch 2 console.
The release will be available purely in digital format on the Nintendo eShop.
