The Merlies — a cozy metroidvania without enemies is coming to Nintendo Switch

A combat-free metroidvania about a tiny flock of birds

Publishers Arte France and GCores Publishing, together with studios Darjeeling Productions and Blue Ramen Studio, have officially announced the cozy adventure game The Merlies for the Nintendo Switch console.

The digital release of the project is scheduled for September 29, 2026.

The main difference between The Merlies and classic representatives of the metroidvania genre is the complete absence of a combat system and enemies. Players can expect a meditative journey filled with exploration and coziness.
