Tales of Eternia Remastered Details: Frame Rate and Resolution on Switch and Switch 2

Bandai Namco has revealed the specifications of Tales of Eternia Remastered for Switch and Switch 2: both versions will run at 60 FPS, with Switch 2 supporting 4K in docked mode.

Bandai Namco Entertainment has shared technical details for the remaster of the cult classic JRPG Tales of Eternia Remastered, scheduled for release on October 16, 2026, for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.

Resolution and Frame Rate

The updated classic will run at a stable 60 fps on both platforms, but Switch 2 will offer a significantly higher resolution:

  • Nintendo Switch: 60 FPS (1080p in docked mode, 720p in handheld mode)
  • Switch 2: 60 FPS (4K in docked mode, 1080p in handheld mode)

Re-release Features

Tales of Eternia Remastered is an updated version of the classic 2001 game, where players embark on a perilous journey alongside Reid Hershel and his friends to prevent the collision of two worlds—Inferia and Celestia.

The remaster will offer a range of modern enhancements:

  • Ability to switch between updated and original graphics/sound effects.
  • Adjustable experience multipliers and random encounter rates (Boost feature).
  • Quick Battle Retry, quick health recovery, and map objective markers.
  • Higher difficulty levels: Extreme (available immediately) and Unknown (unlocked after completing the game).
