Data leaks regarding the second year of support
Recently, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds kicked off its second year of support ("Year Two"), bringing new modes and crossover characters, notably Bayonetta and Godzilla. SEGA had previously announced future collaborations with the Persona and Final Fantasy VII series, but dataminers decided to look deeper into the files of the latest update.
Who was found in the game code
Although there is no official confirmation of the full list from SEGA yet, mentions of several new characters were discovered in the files:
- Final Fantasy VII Remake: Cloud Strife and Tifa Lockhart;
- Other characters: Marisa, Movie Sonic, Will from Metaphor: ReFantazio, Sakura Shinguji from Sakura Wars, and Akira Yuki from Virtua Fighter.
Of course, the presence of these names in the update data does not guarantee a 100% appearance of every hero, but the collaboration with FFVII is already officially scheduled, so players just have to wait for new announcements.
