Claymation Magic from the Creators of "Wallace & Gromit"
The Pokémon Company International and legendary British studio Aardman have revealed fresh details about their collaborative project — a stop-motion animated series titled «Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu».
The presentation took place at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. Representatives of both companies shared behind-the-scenes materials, concept art, and first stills from the pilot episode.
British Humor in the Galar Region
The events of the animated series will unfold in the Galar region, inspired by the United Kingdom. This serves as the ideal backdrop for the refined yet comical knight Sirfetch'd and his restless partner Pichu.
Key features of the upcoming project:
- Premiere on Disney+: The release is scheduled for 2027 on the Disney+ platform.
- No Dialogue: The episodes will not feature traditional spoken voice acting; the emphasis is placed on visual comedy and Aardman's classic pantomime humor.
- Handcrafted: All characters and sets are created by hand using stop-motion animation techniques under the direction of director Tom Parkinson.
The creators promise a heartfelt and funny story that will show the world of Pokémon exclusively from the perspective of the pocket monsters themselves.
