The Pokémon Company has announced that its collaboration with LEGO will continue into 2027, when new Pokémon-themed sets in the LEGO® SMART Play™ line will be released.
What Is Known So Far
The news was announced during the Pokémon World Championships 2026. The sets themselves have not yet been shown — only silhouettes of future models confirming that the next wave of products will be dedicated to the following Pokémon:
- Grookey
- Pichu
- Charcadet
- Mankey
- Wingull
No further details are available yet, but the company promises to share more information about the new releases later.
LEGO® SMART Play™ Technology
Thanks to LEGO® SMART Play™ technology, builders will be able to feel like real Pokémon Trainers: beloved LEGO characters will gain the ability to "play back" in response to the player's actions. The sets go beyond ordinary building — offering training, care, and battles without any screens.
"We are thrilled to bring two globally beloved brands together. For the first time, LEGO Pokémon figures will react to children's actions, allowing fans to build, train, and engage with their LEGO Pokémon in a hands-on play format that fosters creativity, confidence, and storytelling skills," said Julia Goldin, Chief Product & Marketing Officer at the LEGO Group.
"Pokémon has always been about the joy of discovery and connection, and every day we see how powerful imagination can be when given room to grow. Collaborating with the LEGO Group and its SMART Brick technology brings these shared values to life in a new, interactive way. Together, we are giving young trainers a new way to interact with the world of Pokémon and opening new possibilities for a new generation of fans," added Gaku Susai, Chief Product & Experience Officer at The Pokémon Company International.
