Marketing agency Pixel Helix held its debut online showcase Pixel Arcadia – The Future of Retro, which brought together more than 50 retro game publishers and developers. The show featured many high-profile announcements, including projects for the current Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles.
Major World Premieres and Announcements
- Terranigma: The legendary Japanese Action-RPG from Quintet is finally returning! Publisher Clear River Games, under license from Square Enix, will release the game on modern platforms in 2027 with the participation of the original developers.
- Blaster Bug: A new game from the creators of Windjammers 2 — a dynamic eight-player arcade action game in the style of classic Bomberman, which is already available for free.
- Alien Breed 35th Anniversary: A collection of cult isometric sci-fi shooters from Team 17 and Antstream, featuring six games with modernized controls and online co-op.
- Ninja Jajamaru - Yokai Night Parade: The return of the classic franchise combining pixel art and modern 3D graphics.
- Carrier Command 2: The release of the tactical strategy game has been officially confirmed for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 consoles, as well as Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
- Ninja Baseball League Man: Bases Loaded: The '90s arcade legend from IREM is coming to modern consoles in an HD remaster alongside the Bases Loaded crossover.
- Infested DX: A 16-bit remake of the retro adventure in the style of Shadowgate and Deja Vu.
- Sanitarium Enhanced: The cult 1998 psychological horror game is coming to consoles for the first time with improved controls and a hint system.
In addition, viewers were shown extended gameplay of the upcoming game He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction, as well as footage of dozens of other old-school indie projects.
