And the first of them was a Direct dedicated to the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda series. However, despite lasting a full 30 minutes, we won't dwell on it for long. So, this year we can expect a symphony orchestra world tour featuring music from the franchise, a new ticket design for the Nintendo Museum, and a full-fledged cinematic adaptation of the series in theaters with the brilliant title The Legend of Zelda. We're waiting for April 30, by the way. Besides this, the most important thing was there – merch, Merch! MERCH!!! Literally kilotons of MERCH! Figurines, building sets, musical instruments, and much more. Uh, did I mention they showed merch at the presentation? Yes? Well, I've told you the most important part. But there is something that saves the presentation from total failure. And that is – an extended gameplay demonstration of the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Although at first I saw AI slop in what was shown, straight from the series "Hey GPT! Go vibecode me a game in the style of The Legend of Zelda, but with photorealistic graphics," in the end the game managed to somewhat soften that impression. Even though some design choices still raise questions for me, I am looking forward to this game with great anticipation. And I advise you to do the same. See you on November 5!
And finally – for the franchise's anniversary, Nintendo introduced the first limited edition Nintendo Switch 2 console! And you won't believe it! Not even in a "tacky gaudy" style! It even made me want to sell my Switch and get my hands on the new one. The combination of green, gold, and black turned out very well. Coming out on October 29, 2026.
With that, the first Direct of September comes to an end. And to be frank – if there hadn't been the Ocarina showcase – it would have been a catastrophic failure. As it stands – a minor flop, a mediocre Direct, nothing crucial. And now let's take a look at what Nintendo and its partners have in store for us in the main Direct…
Monster Hunter Wilds… Well, this game had been promised for quite some time. Capcom paid a heavy price for rushing the release of this game on older platforms in February 2025. They paid with their own reputation and the reputation of the entire franchise by pushing a raw, buggy piece of you-know-what to market. And now, scrubbing their undergarments clean of that fact, Capcom is releasing this game for Nintendo Switch 2 as well. If you're not afraid to try this controversial game – on December 6, 2026, it will visit us too! Oh, and the DLC expansion will release sometime in 2027 on all platforms.
The final part of the Final Fantasy 7 "Remake Trilogy." Well, this was also promised who knows when. And if you want to dive into it along with the rest of the world – April 8, 2027 will be your time! Oh, and Crisis Core was also updated for Nintendo Switch 2, and right now at that… I wonder, is an upgrade provided for owners on past-gen? Though, it's Square Enix, so of course not…
Whoa, now this is something interesting! Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is getting a "Definitive Edition." Yeeep, looks like Nintendo just can't bury another dead horse… The recent remake of StarFox 64 will receive several new maps, four-player support on a single console, and a few other little things on September 29. Good thing it's at least free.

Whoa, Atlus and Sega stopped by for a visit… Looks like sales of the Persona 3 remake on Nintendo Switch 2 completely satisfied Sega, and they decided to port all their future projects there as well. Persona 4 Revival will release on May 20, 2027, and Persona 6 – sometime in the future.
And now, the final game closing the show… And it's a new Kirby! Looks like this time we're getting a game in a true 3D open world rather than Crash-like levels… I'm intrigued, curious to see how this pink all-devouring orb will play in such a setting… Kirby and the World Beyond will release for Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2027. Interesting, interesting… Plus Kirby is 35 years old now…
Overall – that's how Nintendo concluded this Direct. All in all – in my opinion, the presentation turned out quite good. Without hysterical screaming or major disasters. The entire upcoming Nintendo game lineup was laid out for us quite clearly up to and including February 2027. And that's right when the time comes for the first Big Direct of 2027… I think we'll meet again then, but for now allow me to take my leave.
