Upcoming The Legend of Zelda Film Adaptation Will Attract a New Audience
As part of the massive 40th anniversary celebration of the legendary The Legend of Zelda franchise, Nintendo is preparing many exciting projects. One of the most anticipated events remains the release of a live-action feature film based on the series.
During a panel at the Variety Entertainment & Technology summit, Nintendo of America President and COO Devon Pritchard shared thoughts on celebrating the anniversary and collaborating on the upcoming movie:
“We are partnering with Sony Pictures. Our film will be released at the end of April, and we are incredibly excited about this. Partnering with giants like Sony and Sony Pictures allows us to take our universes to a new level — not only for current players and longtime fans, but also for a completely new audience. For us, this is one of the most exciting directions for the coming years.”

The iconic franchise's anniversary encompasses many initiatives: from themed releases for the Switch 2 console to accessories and updated classic games. However, it is the film adaptation that is set to become the main bridge between gamers and a broad viewing audience worldwide.
