Nintendo has presented a detailed overview trailer for Nintendo Switch Sports Resort — a new installment in the popular sports game series created exclusively for the next-generation Nintendo Switch 2 console.
12 Sports and New Joy-Con 2 Features
Players will be able to play sports solo or in the company of friends and family. The project will offer 12 diverse disciplines, including Archery, Bowling, Boxing, and many others.
In addition to classic competitions, the game will feature the ability to explore the resort island thanks to the new Joy-Con 2 controls:
- using Joy-Con 2 mouse-like controls in Skateboarding;
- maneuvering waves on jet skis (Power Cruising);
- free flight over the island by tilting the controller on an airplane (Prop Plane).
Competitions and Customization
In online and local modes, players will be able to challenge the island's champions in the brand-new Island Crown mode, enjoy mini-games with various rules, as well as customize the appearance of Sportsmate characters or their own Mii using a wide selection of clothing and accessories.
The release of Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is scheduled for October 22, 2026 exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-orders are already open in the Nintendo eShop.
