Next-Gen Hunting on a Handheld Console
Capcom has shared fresh details regarding the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the popular action RPG Monster Hunter Wilds, scheduled for release on December 4, 2026. In addition to information on frame rate, resolution, and graphical settings, the developers revealed plans regarding editions and updates.
Content and Crossplay
The Nintendo Switch 2 version will include all previously released content updates (Title Updates), including the Grand Hub location, fan-favorite monsters like Lagiacrus, and the collaboration with FINAL FANTASY XIV Online. Players will be able to team up via local wireless connection between multiple Switch 2 consoles, as well as online with full crossplay support across other platforms.
Pricing, Demo, and Expansions
- Standard Edition: digital version on the eShop for $39.99 (pre-orders from October 19 to December 3 will receive an early bird discount at $29.99).
- Deluxe Edition (Physical Edition): base game and a cosmetic pack for $39.99.
- Gold Edition: expanded digital edition with cosmetic DLC for $79.99.
Ahead of release, Capcom plans to release a free introductory Prologue Demo. It was also confirmed that the major story expansion Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance will come to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.
