Publisher Ratalaika Games, together with developers from calgames, has announced the release of the retro platformer Mister Scary - Where Are You? on the hybrid console Nintendo Switch. The game's release is scheduled just in time for Halloween — October 28, 2026, priced at $5.99 on the Nintendo eShop.
Searching for a Missing Family
In this atmospheric holiday adventure, players will take control of a purple little monster named Mister Scary, who has lost his family. Interestingly, the main character's design was inspired by a young child's imaginary friend.
The main character has an amusing defense mechanic: when he ducks, he simply falls asleep and becomes completely invulnerable to any damage.
Game Features:
- 6 themed spooky worlds with additional sub-zones.
- 6 unique bosses.
- Various combat techniques: jump on enemies' heads or enjoy icy and spicy snacks to freeze or ignite opponents.
- Collect tokens to earn extra lives (15 tokens = 1 extra life).
- Convenient world map for navigation.
- Soundtrack created by composers Logan E. Schad and Kevin Van Der Burg.
