In Minecraft Dungeons II, Deluxe Content Is Locked to Only One Profile on Switch 2

Switch 2 players have encountered an issue: Deluxe Edition content in Minecraft Dungeons II is available only for the buyer's profile.

Minecraft Dungeons II has been released on Switch and Switch 2, but early buyers have encountered an unpleasant issue. The base version of the game costs $29.99 on the Nintendo eShop, while the extended Deluxe Edition is priced at $49.99 (or $19.99 for the upgrade), which includes DLC packs, skins, and other bonuses. Unfortunately, not all users on the same console can access this content.

Deluxe Content Is Tied to Only One Account

Players report that Deluxe Edition bonus materials are locked strictly to the Switch 2 profile from which the purchase was made. Other users on the same console can launch the base game, but when attempting to open deluxe content, the system prompts them to purchase the upgrade in the eShop again.

  • The purchase activates additional content exclusively for the primary account.
  • Other profiles on a family console only see an offer to purchase the Upgrade.
  • A similar issue is observed on the PlayStation 5 platform as well.

This creates serious inconvenience for families sharing a single Switch 2 among multiple players, as children cannot use the bonuses in their save files. It is most likely a technical bug rather than an intended limitation, but Mojang Studios has not yet provided an official comment regarding the situation.
