Taito and Clear River Games have officially announced the return of the cult classic role-playing game series — the compilation Lufia I & II The Sinistrals Saga. The project is being developed for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles, with its release scheduled for 2027.
Legendary 90s JRPGs Return
The collection will include the two most famous installments of the series, which once won players' hearts with touching stories and unforgettable soundtracks. The developers promise a faithful port and a series of quality-of-life improvements tailored to modern gameplay standards.
Collection Contents:
- Lufia & the Fortress of Doom — the original story of a young man, a descendant of a legendary hero, and a young woman who shoulder the burden of a great prophecy.
- Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals — a prequel chronicling Maxim (who would later become a legend) and his loyal companions in a fierce battle against fate itself.
The compilation's release on both generations of Nintendo consoles is expected during 2027.
