The Return of the Cult Classic on Cartridges
Crystal Dynamics, together with the PlayEveryWare team, has announced physical editions of the game Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered for Nintendo Switch. The physical media release will take place on November 13, 2026, and pre-orders are already open at many global retailers.
Contents of the Standard and Collector's Editions
Plaion serves as the distributor, offering fans two options:
- Standard Edition ($29.99 / €29.99): a standard copy of the game on a cartridge in a branded box.
- Deluxe Edition ($49.99 / €49.99): a game cartridge, digital comic reader (three classic issues), a demo version of the canceled sixth installment Legacy of Kain: The Dark Prophecy, a collectible SteelBook, the official soundtrack on CD, and an 80-page artbook with concept art and sketches.
Features of the Remastered Defiance
The remaster of the gloomy 2003 dark fantasy adventure received modern graphics enhancements, an improved camera, photo mode, and "lost levels" cut from the original release. Players will once again have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Nosgoth, controlling the vampire Kain and his former lieutenant Raziel.
