Bao Bao the Panda Wants to Clean: All 23 Indie World Games from October 28

Nintendo held a new Indie World Showcase presentation. They promised around 15 minutes—the recorded broadcast runs 19.5. During this time, they showed 23 indie games for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch: 16 via individual trailers and another seven in the closing sizzle reel.

Out of the 23 games, six will be released this year. The remaining 17 will arrive in 2027.

October and November 2026

An atmospheric adventure from the studio behind ABZÛ and The Pathless: surf on a magical Hoversword across sands, glaciers, and seas. The game was released on PS5 and PC back on August 19, 2025.

Editor's Brief Take

It's not as if Indie World has ever showered us with stars. Its biggest highlights have usually been ports of outside hits: Among Us in 2020, UFO 50 last year, Blue Prince in March—nearly a year after releasing on other platforms. And the date for Mina the Hollower from last year's August showcase lasted only two months.

This time there wasn't even that: the only shadow drop was Bao Bao’s Cozy Cleaning Services—a cleaning simulator about a panda. Fittingly: after a showcase like this, it's definitely time to clean up. The biggest names are once again guests from other platforms, and most won't arrive until 2027:

• Sword of the Sea—on PS5 and PC since August 2025;
• Slime Rancher 2—in early access since 2022, full release arrived in September 2025;
• R.E.P.O.—in Early Access on Steam since February 2025, where it became one of the hits of the year;
• Super Battle Golf—on Steam since February 2026, while console versions were previously promised for summer 2026.

Witchbrook was first revealed back in 2016 under the title Project Spellbound. Now the game finally has an exact release date—January 28, 2027.

The only truly fresh announcement was perhaps Winds of Viridia, and its demo can be downloaded today. On the bright side, the real hero of the evening was clearly the raccoon: a raccoon gang in Dumpster Gang, raccoons in RACCOIN, and Pon the tanuki in TANUKI—even if the latter is, strictly speaking, a raccoon dog.
