Former Nintendo veteran and key creator of the cult series WarioWare, Goro Abe, shared details about his life after leaving the company earlier this year and dedicating himself to teaching at Osaka Electro-Communication University.
A New Challenge After Decades in Game Dev
In a recent interview with VGC, Goro Abe admitted that although he changed professions, video games still remain an important part of his thoughts:
- "Game development takes a lot of time, and I realized that given my age and career, I wouldn't be able to make that many projects in the future," Abe explained.
- "I wanted to challenge myself and try something different. I thought it would be interesting to do things I had never done before, and that's why I decided to go into teaching."
Now, the renowned developer is passing on his many years of experience to a young generation of Japanese students who dream of creating their own hit games.
