The latest trailers for the DMZ mode in the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 have sparked lively discussions among the community. Players are trying to figure out whether the extraction shooter will feature a separate mode exclusively against computer-controlled opponents (PvE).
Mysterious Item in the Deployment Menu
In the seventh episode of the behind-the-scenes series "From the Ward," the developers showed a mission selection screen with four options. Three of them had detailed descriptions, while the item named Single Squad Mission remained without any explanation. This sparked rumors about the possibility of playing solo or with one's own squad without the threat of other players.
Disappearance in the New Trailer and Fan Theories
However, in the following official video "DMZ Dynamic Ops," the mysterious Single Squad option was already absent. Among the main theories for this change are:
- Demonstration of different game builds during footage recording.
- The mode might have been a temporary solution for training newcomers at early levels.
- Possible postponement of the feature to future post-launch seasons.
Whether the DMZ mode will receive a full-fledged PvE format will become known soon. The release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled for October 23 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch 2.
