Studio Drinkbox Studios, known for the popular series Guacamelee! and Nobody Saves the World, announced the postponement of the release of its new game Blighted. The project, which was originally planned for release this year, has now been delayed to 2027.
Why was the release postponed?
The developers decided to take additional time to polish the game, expand mechanics, and ensure the highest quality of the final product. Studio representative Josh Davis shared an official message to the community:
- The team is actively working on the project and gradually expanding.
- The additional time will be dedicated to achieving the desired level of gameplay polish.
- The studio aims to provide players with the best possible gaming experience without compromises.
Drinkbox assured fans that development is in full swing and promised to share new details about the project later.
