Alien Breed 35th Anniversary Edition Announced: Amiga Classic Returns

Team17 has announced the Alien Breed 35th Anniversary Edition collection for PC and consoles, bringing together all the iconic games from the series on Amiga along with modern enhancements.

Studio Team17 is preparing the return of the cult retro franchise: the Alien Breed 35th Anniversary Edition collection has been announced. For the first time, it will include all the original entries of the sci-fi action series that once made the Commodore Amiga platform famous.

The Complete Legacy of the Classic Series

Alien Breed began its journey back in 1991 and won the hearts of millions of players with its blend of dynamic top-down shooter action, tense atmosphere, and the aesthetics of cult space thrillers. The new edition will offer the most complete set of games from the Amiga era:

  • Alien Breed (1991)
  • Alien Breed: Special Edition (1992)
  • Alien Breed II: The Horror Continues (1993, ECS and AGA versions)
  • Alien Breed: Tower Assault (1994, Amiga and CD32 editions)
  • Alien Breed 3D (1995)
  • Alien Breed 3D II: The Killing Grounds (1996)

Modern Enhancements and Interactive Archive

The edition does not just emulate the classics, but also adds a wealth of modern platform features: twin-stick support, quick saves (save states), visual retro filters, vibration, as well as local and online co-op via P2P. In addition, the developers have prepared new game modes and tactical challenges.

A special highlight of the collection will be the In-Universe Digital Archive — an interactive space station where players can explore development history, archival design documents, rare materials, and interviews with the creators.

Alien Breed 35th Anniversary Edition is scheduled for release on PC and modern consoles. The team will announce the exact release date later.
