After the Wane Gets a New Trailer, Switch Release Delayed to 2027

Studio Nova-box has released a new trailer for After the Wane and announced the postponement of the Nintendo Switch release to early 2027.

Studio Nova-box has presented a new atmospheric trailer for its upcoming narrative game After the Wane, and shared updated release plans. While the game will arrive on PC late this year, the Nintendo Switch version will have to wait until early 2027.

Why was the Switch release delayed?

As the developers note, the extra time is necessary to provide players with a flawlessly polished console experience, optimized specifically for comfortable gameplay in handheld mode.

The events of After the Wane unfold in modern-day Paris, where artistic ambitions, the pain of loss, and occultism intertwine. The main character is Lena, a talented dancer who arrives in the capital following in her mother's footsteps and gets caught in the whirlwind of a clash between two dance communities. In addition to difficult life choices, the protagonist will have to cope with a haunting voice in her own head.

Features of After the Wane:

  • Handcrafted and rotoscoped: over 2,000 frames of animation drawn by hand based on the movements of professional choreographers.
  • Unique visual style: hundreds of delicate watercolor backgrounds by art director Nicolas Fouqué.
  • Non-linear story: significant replayability with different narrative paths and endings depending on your decisions.
  • Adaptive soundtrack: orchestral music by the Illustrason collective that dynamically changes according to the scene's mood and player actions.
